Camp (Beginner)

This week-long Python and AI summer coding camp teaches students programming fundamentals and how to leverage AI to enhance their newly learned coding skills.

July 13 - July 17, 2026

Join our immersive week-long Python and AI summer coding camp from July 13 - July 17, 2026, 12:15-3:00 PM. This program guides students in mastering Python basics while exploring how artificial intelligence can amplify their new technical abilities. Open to children who've completed 4th-7th grade, with only 5 spots available. On the final day, students will participate in a special showcase where they can demonstrate their projects to parents and friends. The camp costs $45, with a $10 discount for registrations before April 11th. Register below to secure your child's spot.

LEARN PYTHON FUNDAMENTALS: Print and if statements, functions, generating random numbers, getting input from the user.

LEARN PROMPT ENGINEERING: Communicate clearly with AI using specific and structured prompts for better results.

COMBINE AI WITH THEIR CODING SKILLS: After the first 3 days of Python fundamentals, they will learn to leverage AI to enhance their projects.

SHOWCASE THEIR PROJECTS: The last day will extend 30 minutes longer so your kids can show off what they made to the parents.

Prerequisites

• Participants need a new computer running macOS, Windows, Chromebook, or Linux
• Students should possess basic computer skills including:
  • Typing (doesn't have to be perfect - it just has to work)
  • Using a mouse or trackpad
• No prior coding experience necessary
• We expect students to demonstrate appropriate behavior:
  • Ability to listen to and follow instructions
  • Remain engaged in activities
  • Show respect toward instructors and peers

Meet the Instructor

Hawken Parkman (7th grade) brings 3+ years of coding experience in Python and HTML, and taught a weekly Python class at his school. With a maximum class size of 5 participants, each student receives personalized attention. TA Jessa Parkman provides adult supervision throughout all sessions.
